CLUNES LANE COTTAGE

MAMBOO ISLAND NSW

About

about

A location like no other.

Step off the sun drenched deck onto the secluded sandy riverbank and straight into the salty waters of the Manning River.

This early 1900's milking shed has held such interesting ownership since being built. Serving the coastal island, milking boats would moor daily to collect milk for the surrounding townships.

Clutching to the bank of the Manning, the milking shed has seen almost 100 years of changes to the river system, from Jim Newtons sailing ships to modern day cruisers.

The ship building industry thrived along the banks of the river until the end of the first World War and was an important industry for Harrington and surrounds. You can still see the remnants by boat and collect treasures as you walk along the sandy river flats.

Clunes Lane Cottage is now an ode to the simple life and farming in the manning and the perfect location to reflect and unwind.

We feel a deep connection with this Island and want to share the emotional sense of belonging felt when you experience a stay at Clunes Lane Cottage
